This incredible 6-day safari takes you to Uganda’s most iconic national parks—Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Queen Elizabeth, and Kibale Forest. Track the endangered mountain gorillas, search for tree-climbing lions, cruise the Kazinga Channel, and walk through dense rainforest in search of chimpanzees. It’s the ultimate primate and big game safari combo for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts.
DETAILED itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Depart from Entebbe or Kampala and journey southwest through Uganda’s lush countryside, with a stop at the equator for photos and local craft shopping. Overnight near Bwindi.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
After a briefing, venture into the forest to track a family of mountain gorillas. Spend a magical hour observing them in their natural habitat. In the evening, relax or visit a nearby cultural village.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha
Drive through the scenic Ishasha sector, famed for its tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a game drive and continue to your lodge in Queen Elizabeth NP.
Day 4: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Safari
Early morning game drive through Kasenyi Plains for sightings of elephants, buffalo, antelope, and possibly leopards. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, known for its high concentration of hippos, crocodiles, and birds.
Day 5: Transfer to Kibale Forest & Bigodi Swamp Walk
After breakfast, transfer to Kibale National Park. In the afternoon, take a guided walk through Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a haven for primates and birds.
Day 6: Chimpanzee Trek & Return to Kampala/Entebbe
Head out for chimp trekking in Kibale Forest—home to over 1,000 chimpanzees. After the trek, drive back to Kampala or Entebbe for drop-off.
